Many tourists visit the Orlando area for the high number good golf courses. Around ten large 18 hole courses can be found within 10 minutes drive of the Walt Disney World area just off Hwy192 and the I-4.
Champions Gate resort features 2 courses designed by Greg Norman and a hotel and Spa.
Highlands Reserve doubles as a villa community with many of the villas backing onto the tees and fairways.
Crazy Golf – There are 3 prominent Crazy Golf (Mini-Golf or Adventure Golf as it’s called in the US) courses in the Disney area. Pirate’s Cove has 2 sites; one is just off Highway 535 through the Crossroads restaurant area and another Pirate’s Cove is on I-Drive just along from the ICON Centre.
Another is Bonanza Mini-Golf on Hwy192 between Wendy’s Burgers and Burger King.
Theme Park Resort Courses – even though I’ve tried to not mention theme parks again in this section it still creeps in!
Disney Courses – Walt Disney World resort has 4 main golf courses and 2 mini-golf courses. Visit golfwdw.com for more details and to book a round.
Universal’s CityWalk also has the Hollywood Drive-In mini-golf which features 50s movie style aliens and monsters.
