State road 192 or West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway to give its official name, is the strip that runs from Highway 27 down to Kissimmee and then further down to the Atlantic Coast. The main part tourists visit is around Walt Disney World and Kissimmee. Given it’s close proximity to WDW and World Drive, Hwy192 is often very busy with cars and frustratingly it has traffic lights at around every 1000 yards or so which slow you down.

However, it does features just about every major hotel chain and restaurants for all tastes. So if you’re looking for a cheap place to stay just a stone’s throw from Disney World you’ll be spoilt for choice along here. There are more than a few shops here as well. If you need a place for breakfast on the way to WDW or somewhere for dinner on the way back to your villa or hotel then a stop at one of the many restaurants here is easily done.

If you’re after something quick to eat all the major fast food chains (Chick-fil-A, Wendys etc) are here too.

The western stretch which runs south of WDW has the Rolling Oaks Commons retail park. Here you will find a big Super Target store, Olive Garden and Bahama Breeze (cocktails!) restaurants. Across the road from here is a Publix supermarket and an Applebee’s restaurant.

The western, ‘Disney’ stretch of Hwy192 runs just south of WDW.

Other notable landmarks along the 192 are the shops with the mermaid facade and another with the huge wizard structure. These and many of the shops along Hwy192 will have cheap Disney, Universal and Florida merchandise – beach towels, fridge magnets, t-shirts, cuddly toys, mugs, pens and autograph books.

Margaritaville resort is a brand new resort which opened in 2019 and has a hotel and holiday cottages to stay at with complimentary shuttle buses to WDW, Universal and Sea World. Sunset Walk is Margaritaville’s shopping and restaurant area and the Promenade has evening entertainment. It’s also right next door to Island H2O Live! water park.

The eastern strip of Hwy192 which runs from the I-4 to downtown Kissimmee is much of the same with supermarkets, restaurants and shops. But, most notably the International Heli-Tours, Orange Gift Shop that’s, shaped like an orange(!), Kissimmee Old Town with its hot rod classic car show and nearby Fun Spot rides is here. Not far from Hwy192 is the Lake Buena Vista Outlet mall, just up State Road 535.
